I am an emerging and exhibiting artist with fetures in Women in Art, Flux Magazine and Artist Talk magazine, A BA Fine Art graduate from the University of the West of England (UWE). I have been a practicing artist since the age of 21 and have been deeply and obsessively engaged with painting ever since. I am currently a studio resident at Document in Bristol, although I am presently living and creating work in the North West of England.
The themes I consistently explore—returning to them again and again—are emotionally charged and often drawn from personal experiences of love, loss, abandonment, people and things that have been before, and the continuously shifting perception of both the self and the external world. My practice continues to evolve, particularly in terms of conceptual relevance. Recently, I have adopted a more tactical and methodical approach to painting, often comparing the process to working through a mathematical equation.
The act of making and revisiting a painting is essential to my methodology. A painting, for me, is not considered complete until it has been thoroughly reconsidered, revised, and resolved over time. I feel a deep attachment to my paintings, and consider them to be a part of me.
